The Sherwood Foresters Collection Education Service

EDUCATION

The Museum Education Service was developed in response to the Governments "Learning For Life Initiative" and requirements of the National Curriculum, providing resources to Primary and Secondary Schools in the Derby and Nottingham areas. All enquiries are dealt with by the curator. Our museum has a wide range of artefacts and memorabilia which provide valuable teaching resources for pupils of all ages.

The Education Service has been used by an increasing number of local Schools (also featuring in the Summer School Programme organised by Nottingham University Faculy of Education for newly qualified teachers), and Community Groups.

RESOURCE BOXES
The Museum is working in collaberation with Access Artefacts of Nottingham City Museum Group to provide a unique and fascinating collection of materials which provide a wide range of teaching opportunities related to the National Curriculum, especially in the area of historical enquiry.  Further details will be published once the new system is set up.
