The Worcestershire Regimental Museum was originally established at Norton Barracks. Early in 1970 the Worcester City Authorities kindly agreed to the Collection being housed in its present position within the Worcester City Museum and Art Gallery, Foregate Street, Worcester.

On display are artefacts from the Regiment, its predecessors the Worcestershire Regiment and the 29th and 36th of Foot along with the Militia and Volunteer Units of Worcestershire.

The Museum is open Monday to Saturday 9.30 am to 6 pm (5 pm on Saturdays). On Spring and Summer Bank Holidays the Museum is open from 10 am to 5 pm and admission is free. The building has a lift to all floors. The lift entrance is at pavement level in Taylor's Lane and The Worcestershire Soldier galleries are situated on the first floor. The museum is located in Foregate Street above the Library.

THE WORCESTERSHIRE SOLDIER

The Worcestershire Soldier Exhibtion tells the story of the soldiers of our county Regiments. They lived and sometimes died in the defence of the country and its Empire overseas. Using archive film, memories and the unique collections of The Worcestershire Regiment and Worcestershire Yeomanry this display brings 300 years of military history to life.

Discover more about the harsh conditions, disease and discipline endured by soldiers in Victorian times. Try on uniforms and discover how heavy soldiers' equipment was to carry. Listen to soldiers' tales of battle at audio points through the gallery. Use computers to investigate the history of families linked with the regiments. Find out about Worcesters Home Front during World War 2.
