EDUCATIONThe Museum Education Service was developed in response to the Governments "Learning For Life Initiative" and requirements of the National Curriculum, providing resources to Primary and Secondary Schools in the Derby and Nottingham areas. All enquiries are dealt with by the curator. Our museum has a wide range of artefacts and memorabilia which provide valuable teaching resources for pupils of all ages. The Education Service has been used by an increasing number of local Schools (also featuring in the Summer School Programme organised by Nottingham University Faculy of Education for newly qualified teachers), and Community Groups. RESOURCE BOXESA unique and fascinating collection of materials which provide a wide range of teaching opportunities related to the National Curriculum, especially in the area of historical enquiry. The Regimental Archives can also be used to provide material for tailor made displays suitable for both Primary and Secondary pupils. This facility can be arranged by appointment, based on a variety of themes.
